Marketing Case Study– B. XQUISIT

B. Xquisit is a suite styled salon in Decatur, GA that specializes in one on one stylist to client intimacy as well as healthy hair care.

OBJECTIVE: Our clients goal was to welcome a new demographic into her space as she made the move from her suburban salon to an urban location closer to Atlanta.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Busy professionals, college students, clients with thinning hair, self care enthusiasts, clients transitioning from and to chemicals, healthy hair enthusiasts.

MEASURE OF SUCCESS: Social Media Aesthetic & Demographic expansion.

CHALLENGES: Securing consistent talent for content day while not affecting the regular operations of the salon.

HIGHLIGHTS & WINS: Within our first two months of working together we were able to create a full suite of social media content featuring B. Xquisit’s range of services and range of demographic. Additionally, connected the salon with a publicist who could maximize resource opportunities.

INSIGHTS & RESULTS: B. Xquisit’s social media audience has since more than tripled in size allowing the salon a greater opportunity to transition from service based to a company specializing in both products and services.

TAKEAWAYS: Running a salon isn’t what it used to be before 2016. Once upon a time, location and word of mouth were the essentials to a booming beauty business. However, after the rise of YouTube and other digital platforms, the key to running a successful beauty business lies in content creation and public relations. How you show up is one part of the solution, but where you show up and who you show up in front of are the other part.

Working with B. Xquisit took me from my social media management shell into recognizing my skills in marketing and the need for those skills in my client’s company. The pretty photos were great, but without the right connections, they were just another set of reels and photos in a huge social media world.

At the moment, our focus is building a team that can place the brand in front of audiences that need to see it the most. In the meantime, my best advice to anyone starting a brick and mortar beauty business is to create a business plan that considers, in detail, how you’ll be most effective to your audience at your 5 year mark. Once you identify that, create a goal for each year that will help you to achieve the success that you expect by year 5.

Unsure of where to start with your beauty business plan. Head to our homepage to get started.
